Rapid development in digital camera technology, combined with the parallel design of modern UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), creates the opportunity for an additional dimension to professional, high-quality image capture and presentation.

• To date 'aerial photography' has largely been the preserve of fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, hot-air balloons or static 'cherry-pickers'.

• In practical terms ToT (Time on Task) has been limited by the high hourly costs of the equipment and aircraft.

• All aircraft are subject to stringent national air regulations which limit their flexibility in terms of over-flight and minimum height restrictions; consequently, there is a trade off between the higher operating altitudes and clarity, resolution and composition.

• Hot-air balloons must also comply with air regulations and are, of course, completely subject to wind direction, etc.
